Round 2! We've talked about research interests, now let's continue the conversation. How do you refine your interest into research questions? Come chat with students excited about language and we can work on this problem together!

Thanks to everyone who came to the Roundtable research discussion event this past Tuesday! The turnout was great, and there were a lot of interesting ideas shared with the group. Special thanks to Kim Edmunds and Melissa Smith for all their hard work putting the event together, and for Matty Espino, Soo Hyoung Joo, Sabina Simon, Allie Hope King, and Katie Heil for talking about their research interests! Here are a few photos from the event. Stay tuned for information about more of our upcoming events! The next research discussion panel is scheduled for Tuesday, September 30, followed by a social event on Friday, October 17. More info coming soon. Hey everyone! The pre-orientation coffee and tea mixer was a HUGE success! In all, 37 new students came to mingle, caffeinate, and chat with other incoming students in the program, which was lovely to see. :) Thank you for your presence bright and early on a Tuesday morning! The poster session in the afternoon went amazingly. A lot of new faces approached the table to find out more about the TESOL/AL Roundtable organization! We had the opportunity not only to meet lots of new first-year students in our program but from other programs as well! It was gratifying to make the acquaintance of so many students interested in TESOL/AL topics (and social events too). We'll keep you posted on more events and we look forward to seeing all of you at the next one! |
